2009: The Year of Yarn
I know, it’s been EONS since I last posted, and for that I am ever so greatly apologetic! The past month or so has been a whirlwind of mindbending proportions, and me doing this blog alone, kind of really slacked on getting back to post on a regular basis. I’ve even been chastised by the Today.com powers that be for my lack of quality or quantity…not really sure because they were kind of vague in their notification. C’est La Vie.
Anywhooooooooo, this witch has been busy doing a number of things such as:
- Gallbladder removal surgery 10 days before Christmas
- Son home from college for a month…I MISS HIM SO MUCH!!
- Spending precious time with husband while he was home over holidays
- Daughter having scholastic issues
- Working, working, working….where they pay actual money for writing!!
- Knitting and crocheting hats and scarves for the grab bag special and for others
I failed miserably on the first shot at a hat for my beloved. Poor guy looks like the Rasta Jelly Fish in A Shark’s Tale with that hat on. MY BAD!!! But, because he really does love me, he is wearing it just the same. At least it’s so big it’s keeping his head warm!!
We will NOT mention to him that his picture is here….hopefully by the time he reads this he will have a better fitting chapeau!
Yeah…..so…………..then I made hats for my son, and for his roommate Artie who, upon receipt, named his hat. I guess it’s a college thing? I’ll let you know the name someday when I remember it. I made two gorgeous (in my humblest of opinions) scarves and one lacy crocheted hat for my beloved and ever so patient Grab Bag customers.
And my big goal (only goal for 2009 as far as knitting is concerned) is to learn to knit properly. So, with my Barnes & Noble gift card, I bought a nifty lil DVD called

The Art Of Knitting (Leisure Arts #107454)
… YES I need it!!
Keep in mind that I am a self-taught knitter, and I know for certain that there must be a better way to go about this craft. So, the only way for me to learn is to watch others.
So, kids, for today (I think), that’s about it. I’m still twirling ideas around in my cranial cap as to the state of my beloved blog here. But for now, just know that I haven’t quite flown the coop just yet!
Hey there, Jesse! Glad you stopped by!!
My family were not the yarnie kind….so I decided to teach myself for some reason unremembered by me. I didn’t start till I was around 21.
You’re right about accomplishing things with passion!
hey, maybe you might take it up again…it’s great stress & anger relief!! Seriously!
Hope you’ll stop by again!

Sorry to hear about the gall bladder. Hopefully you’ll be back up to speed soon. I’m not new to knitting or crocheting. Though I consider my crocheting skill to be superior to my knitting skills. I’m not new to blogging; but am super new to today.com and even newer to EC.
Thought I’d pop in and say hi, read your blog and hope you’ll do the same.
Since you’ve been at it awhile…I’d happily accept suggestions. I’m super clueless on the EC thingy.
Have a good Monday
Sandy
Hi - glad to see you’re still around!
You must give us a review of your knitting DVD - I’m always up for anything that can teach me to do the things I love better than I’m currently doing them. And, like you, I’m sure there’s probably a better way!
Hope the other writing is going well.
Best wishes
Sarah
Sandy, thanks for taking a moment to stop by. As for EC advice, I’m not the best qualified to give that…I’m on dialup, so I don’t ever have the ability to drop cards regularly
You can find EC blogs on the Entrecard site, under whatever category interests you, and on the Today forums, I think there is a thread about Entrecard. Sorry I can’t be of any help with that
Other than that, hope you enjoy your time at Today. Come back and visit anytime
Sarah,
I definitely will review it once I can actually WATCH it…our DVD player (built in the TV) took a poo…..so unless I can figure out how to hook up the PS2 to the TV, I’ll have 2 wait for assistance in the form of my husband before I can watch it all the way thru
Other writing is going ok. Need to get my braincells in gear and get more done!! Hope yours is coming along well, too!!
